Think Big and Think Round!
There are two major factors to consider.
First – Size – let no-one tell you that it’s not important!
- A big image works better than a small one. If we have to enlarge your image to fit the badge it might go all fuzzy.
- Think simple – don’t try and cram loads of words on – a bold image can get your message across just as well.
- Think colour – be imaginative and try out ideas – see what works best.
Second – Layout
- Badge artwork needs what we printer-nerds call a “bleed”. What that means in English is that the image falls off the edge of the printed bit. This is because when we come to make your badges we have to tuck the edge round the back.
- A 25mm badge, for example, is made from a 35 mm circle. See the layouts below. The inner circle is what will appear on your badge face. (Remember to remove the inner circle guide before you upload your image!)
